pitcher and peaches

This is the final step, I am ok with this painting, its the very first of many to come.( I believe that for me and the young talent that I have, )Paintings that do not have hard-crisp lines will be best for now.

tour of studios

This has been a fantastic day!!! I am so very impressed with the artists that we met today. At Kevin Byrne's studio I was pleasantly surprised to run into the women that first made art reachable to me-Cindy Williams (my art appr. instructor.), I love the lg. ceramic platters that Kevin has.
It is refreshing to hear that people really use different approaches to achieve satisfaction with their work, Kristal Tomshany told me that the crow painting's background was done with a feather,.awesome.
As I looked threw the guide booklet, the studio that I wanted to go to first was Mary Russell's and Lynn Cark's. Being very excited with Native American paintings, I am in awh, these ladies were very approachable, I felt so comfortable speaking with them-I am uncomfortable around extremely talented people only because artistic ability is completely honest and I have so much respect for these amazing people. Even when I started my painting class I was uneasy with Margie-but-she's is another artist that is completely approachable. loving this new side of my life. Thank you to all the talented people.

yip, not in order.

Hey, these are really not in order!!!!
Working on this painting is coming along nicely The books are really standing out, I have had to change the angles several times, so that when I get to the shadows-it will throw them the correct direction.

This is really becoming fun, its amazing to me how it starts to tie together. looks like crap one day and the next time you come back to it-its not so bad.lol

now watch this

As I look at this now-8 weeks after I did this, I would not have wanted to leave it like this... This is the first time I have painted on canvas- it is certainly different than painting T-shirts. I love how we are the ones who draw the objects, and can change them if they don't look satisfying.
my painting has started with sienna that has been thinned out with mineral spirits. This is a very easy way to outline your project.

yes, I painted that so well!! Margie was right, I did need to lighten it up-(or there would have been alot of trouble sketching the still life.

wow

As my daughter stated "I'm amazed!!!!" I really thought this was really gonna be proof positive that I no longer had a single creative bone in my body. It seems that it might be growing back. wehooooooo
